About Us
FEW, was founded in 1981 by two foreign female entrepreneurs wishing to create a professional and social network empowering women in Tokyo. FEW has evolved tremendously since then. There are now two chapters, one in Tokyo and one in Osaka, with a current membership of over 200. Members include a broad cross section of professionals from marketers, journalists, entertainment specialists, attorneys and bankers to freelance photographers, translators and entrepreneurs in a variety of industries. Members also include women at the start of their careers such as students and interns. Since September 2008, membership has been open to English-speaking Japanese nationals.

Foodies, Food blogs, Food shows… what we eat, where we eat it and sharing that information is a trend that continues to spread around the globe. Come enjoy a panel of food culture specialists from the Wine, Food Tech, and Cooking and Blogging communities. We will also have a chance to win great prizes in the first annual FEW Blind Food Tasting relay race! This is going to be a super fun meeting. Some of our panel highlights include The folks from SNAPDISH the latest greatest food social network taking the planet by storm one photo at a time. We will also hear from a wine expert who has been introducing great wines into Japan from the Napa Valley, and a few food teachers, bloggers and home chefs!
Meeting includes dinner and drinks as usual. doors open at 7pm and our official meeting kick off is at 7:30 PM

FEW Winter Brunch
Join us for brunch at the lovely Scandinavian restaurant, Cafe Daisy, for delicious food and sparkling conversation! Attendance is limited to 16 brunch fans—which books us the whole restaurant—and since we had 9 or 10 sign up at the FEW monthly meeting last night, be sure to reserve your space ASAP…
This event is for ladies only, and is open to FEW members and guests. Brunch sets range from 1990 yen for eggs benedict, assorted bread and a drink, to 2300 yen for a Scandinavian meat plate set of meatballs, smoked venison, liver pate & bread, with a drink. Great meeting last Thursday - thanks to our speakers from Peaceboat, TELL and Resilience.
Thanks also Marcy Wilder, our Community Services Director and we look forward to our Food Panel next month to be hosted at the Wesley with our FEW food expert Lauren Shannon participating in and moderating and a panel of handpicked food and drink experts. Learn what is trending in food in 2012, get to do some tasting and learn how some food lovers are using technology to spread great food ideas.
Hope our Sumo group enjoy the outing on Saturday 21st and thanks to all who attended our first ‘Naked Lady’ Clothing Swap on Saturday - great success!
