The Internet, we are told, is a dark and dangerous place. It’s full of cyber terrorists, fraudsters, scammers and evil hackers, all of whom wish to do us harm. A staggering variety of products claims to be able to keep us safe and sound while we shop online, share digital photos with random strangers, store personal secrets on USB thumb drives, broadcast our exact location on the web…
The reality is that there are no easy ways to protect yourself when using the Internet, and most security products are utter junk. Our theme is ‘Women have Talent’, and we will showcase six members who want to do a 5-minute pitch about their business or an idea for a business or new venture.
We have a power-house panel of entrepreneur expert judges who will pick the best presentation, and will also give feedback so we can all learn about good business presenting and how to pitch our ideas.

We recycle and conserve as much as we can at home, but the minute we hit the office, we turn into print-every-email and triplicate-copy-document hounds, paper-cup-smashing fiends, and computer-run-all-night-so-the boss-doesn’t-hear-you-come-late-to-work…ers. Corporate waste of materials and energy adds up to wasted corporate cash. So why aren’t companies doing more to be eco-friendly employers? And what on earth is a green workplace, anyway?
