Why become a member of FEW?

"I would not have the friends, social environment and business contacts I have today if it was not for FEW."

"FEW plays an integral part in all aspects of my life in Japan today. With a membership of like-minded and business savvy women, I can get the support I need on any level, and am given much opportunity to become active in my community here. It is a lively group and we have a great deal of fun!"

Community Service

FEW and its Community Service Committee has for the past decade served the Tokyo community at large and enabled FEW members to explore and utilize their skills for the benefit of others. Its mission is to organize, support and facilitate community and charitable activities in Tokyo.

FEW Community Service focuses on 3 areas and we hope you will take some time this year to get involved:
1. Promotion of volunteering and community engagement programs: by networking and doing PR at events, using the FEW newsletter to promote the organizations, development of a Community Service Directory annually.

2. Awareness raising of key issues both locally and internationally: through FEW newsletter articles on specific issues and organizations, Community Service Strategic Partners targeted information, giving out brochures at meetings etc.

3. Raising money for nonprofit organizations: supporting Japan-based nonprofits by encouraging member to join walks, runs, and other events

To help facilitate our work, FEW has been publishing a Volunteering Directory since 1995 where those who are interested in volunteering in the Tokyo Area can find plenty of information. In the 2010 edition, more than 100 organizations that welcome volunteer help are listed.
