Financial Director

Kay Hotta was raised in the U.S., England, Saudi Arabia and China. However in between relocating from country to country she has always managed to visit Japan, where her parents were born, and felt a strong connection to its history ever since she found out her family tree stretched over a mind boggling 2 millenniums. Having lived like a nomad without any concrete roots to a single country her entire life Kay decided to settle down and persue a career in her historically connected country, Japan, assuming her free spirit, adaptability, laissez faire attitude and ability to speak only English would fit in perfectly.
It didn’t.

Kay escaped to New York which she now considers her “true home” if pressed to choose, forgetting all the Japanese she accumulated over the few grueling years she spent as a journalist in Tokyo. Experiencing 9/11 right in front of her eyes, she decided to go back to school to forget all about it followed by a stint as a financial analyst before realizing she just didn’t cut it. Now she has finally found her calling with a restaurant investment company. She currently manages projects and travels extensively between the U.S, Europe and Asia.

Kay is thrilled to join FEW as Finance Director and would like to assure everyone of her competence even though a career in hard-core finance was not to be.
