New Media--- What is it and why do you need it?
Speaker: Modern Media Japan President Terri MacMillan

The New Media ToolKit
for Achieving Your Personal and Professional Goals

Interactive. Personal. Mobile. Web 2.0, LifeHacks. Social networking. The Long Tail, wikis, podcasts, 1-Seg, blogs, videocasts...you’ve probably seen many of these buzzwords in the press. But, if you’re not directly involved in creating/consuming new media, it may be hard to see how these new tools can help you to reach your goals. If you want to connect with clients and potential clients, raise your profile with your target audience, and build a long-term interactive community, this presentation offers you a fun, informative way to learn more about how these tools work, what they’re used for, and who’s using them.

Modern Media Japan produces audio and video podcasts, as well as corporate promotional videos. In New Media, we have achieved notable success on the iTunes Japan Podcast and Audiobook Charts, including:
• iTunes Japan’s #1 Podcast: eigo de Careerup, and ESL podcast series, targeted to Japanese IT workers. Clients: Benesse(Berlitz/Tokyo University)
• The Time Magazine Podcast for Japan: Reached #2 on iTunes Japan Podcast, News and Educational Charts
• The Nikkei Weekly Interview: Podcast series reached #2 on iTunes Japan Podcast, Business and Educational Charts
• eigo no hint/Akiko and Tina: ESL mini-drama, with 1.2million downloads, reached iTunes Japan#3 on the Podcast & Educational Charts.

Modern Media Japan President Terri MacMillan spent 10 years as CBS Records International Manager of Business Affairs, 2 years as GM for Prince’s Paisley Park Music, and 9 years as manager for international hit Pizzicato Five.
