For over 100 years the Japanese have had and obsession with the game of golf and only in recent years have they truly begun to enjoy the game.

This session explores the past,current and future trends and happenings in the game of golf here in Japan/Asia and how chasing a little white ball has become more than just a game but a lifestyle option for many.

In addition is the opportunity to learn how to get into the game, some instructional tips and even some giveaways from companies that are supporting the game of golf for woman.

Many consider Paul Jones to be a pioneer for the hospitality and active leisure industry in the Asia Pacific region. Mr. Jones has parlayed his formal education, practical experience as a top PGA professional, with his undeterred initiative to prove himself at every facet in the industry.

Previous to his current post, Mr. Jones was an associate under Goldman Sachs’ Japanese golf business. He together with various specialists helped establish and build the foundation of Goldman Sachs’ positioning in Japan, and was involved in almost every area of the business. The key areas of his responsibilities included acquisitions, asset management, general operations, large-scale development projects, operations, marketing and brand creation.
Most of Paul’s appetite for this business model comes from his experience in the industry. He has seen the operations of golf and hospitality in 17 countries (mostly in the ASPAC region) and like Mr. Iwasaki, has seen an approximated total of 10% of the world’s golf courses.

Paul’s knowledge also extends into international banking, cross currency finance, mortgage finance, hotel management, branding, service creation and overall operational platform creation and management. His key achievements are the successful creation, launch and execution of these projects in the Asia pacific region, of which most continue to be recognized as top hospitality and leisure operations.
