January Meeting: The World of Spa!

For January’s meeting join Spa industry expert Sarah Watterson for a personalized tour through the world of spas. Learn about the history and evolution of spas, what drives the current boom, and how to pick a spa to suit your personal needs.
Sarah has been in the spa industry for 20 years. Commencing her career in London as a make up artist and beauty therapist, she first came to Japan in 1989 as part of her training as an internationally licensed shiatsu practitioner. She operated successful private practices in both the UK and Kobe before being invited to work at the world's leading health spa Chiva Som as their holistic specialist.

Sarah came to Tokyo in 2002 when she was called by Mr. Shu Uemura to work with him as a spa consultant and trainer. In 2005 she was recruited by Mandarin Oriental hotel group to be on the opening team of Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo. Having seen the spa grow from building site to recently being voted #1 Day spa in Asia Sarah has decided to seek new challenges and will being working independently again as a consultant in the New Year .
