SIGN UP TO BE PART OF THE FEW GROUP!!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. The Run for the Cure Foundation is dedicated to advancing breast-cancer research, education and awareness, and to providing those who face a breast-cancer diagnosis in Japan with better screening and treatment options, and a better quality of life. Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer among Japanese women aged between 25 and 55. One in 30 Japanese women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year and nearly 10,000 died from the disease in 2003. Due to a combination of lifestyle changes, marrying at a later age and fewer pregnancies, Japan's rate of increase is among the world's highest.

FEW are putting together a group to take part at this year's Run for the Cure, a 5K Walk and a 5K Run around the Imperial Palace. Friends and family are welcome to join the FEW group. We are having some caps designed and produced specially for the event to distinguish us as a group. The cost for the caps will be 1000 yen.

Date: Saturday 22nd October, 2005

Location: From Hibiya City and around the Imperial Palace

Meeting Time: Event starts at 12 noon. Meeting time and place for FEW group TBC

Cost: 5000 yen registration fee (Please register and pay your registration fee through the Run for the Cure website ). 1000 yen for a FEW/Run for the Cure specially designed cap.

RSVP: To be part of the FEW group, please email Laura Cope, FEW Community Services Director at fewvolunteers@gmail.com by SEPTEMBER 30TH AT THE LATEST. Please indicate in this email whether you would like a cap or not. You will receive an email confirmation from Laura and she will also send you more information on where the FEW group will meet on the day and how you will receive your cap etc.

Points to consider: PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YOU NEED TO REGISTER FOR THE EVENT AND PAY YOUR REGISTRATION FEE INDIVIDUALLY THROUGH THE RUN FOR THE CURE WEBSITE.
