It is this time of the year again- come and celebrate the holidays with your fellow FEW members and guests! The FEW Bonenkai 2005 is going to be yet another great party on December 8th! Bring your friends and spouses - even the men! The FEW Bonenkai will feature an exhibition and sale of designs from LiMLEE Creative Director Hidetaka Lee Fukuzaki. There will also be a fundraiser for a FEW-supported charity.
The FEW Community Services Committee has recently met with a few selected organisations from the FEW Volunteer Directory to find out more about them and how they would use a Bonenkai donation from FEW. We are pleased to announce that the charity that we will support at the Bonenkai 2005 is Seishonen Fukushi and Seishu Ryo. These Residential Centres, (one for boys and one for girls) provide shelter and support to those teenagers who are forced to leave their residential care homes at the age of only 15. Often, these children are either orphaned, or have been abandoned by their parents as infants and sometimes they are the victims of child or sexual abuse. Forced out into society at a young age, and expected to fend for themselves, they struggle to survive and find their place in society.
Today, there are four residential homes, three in Adachi and one in Shinjuku. In total, there are 82 children in residence. The Centres have two main missions:
1) Let the world know that there are homeless children who are crying out for help.
2) Give these teenagers a chance and don’t let these youngsters be forgotten and considered useless by society.
The cost for each child to live at the home is 30,000 yen per month, money that the children themselves work to earn. The money raised will help pay towards these living costs.
FEATURED DESIGNER AT THE FEW BONENKAI 2005
Women in Tokyo lead busy professional and private lives, and need to look and feel their best at every occasion. As a special feature, LiMLEE Creative Director Hidetaka Lee Fukuzaki will present a selection of his innovative ladieswear line at the 2005 FEW Bonenkai. FEW members can enjoy talking with Fukuzaki about his design philosophy, as well as try on items from the Autumn/Winter collection.

LiMLEE offers designs for the internationally-minded woman in a unique fusion of Asian and European elements. Easy-care fabrics, as well as original prints and specially created textiles, ensure an elegant and timeless look. At the private boutique in Omotesando, customers can take advantage of the unique semi-custom sizing service available for casual, career and evening wear.

Fukuzaki was brought up by his Japanese father and Chinese-Malaysian mother in Tokyo, and studied in China, Australia and at the prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. After returning to Japan in 2000, he worked for the world-renowned fashion leader Issey Miyake before establishing the LiMLEE label in 2004 with FEW member Jennifer Lim.
