Who among us has not wondered what it would be like to slip the bonds of earth and soar off into space in a rocket ship – destination, adventure! These days, we see plenty of science fiction to spark our imaginations, but what is it really like? Who are some of the women who have “made it” in the traditionally male dominated field of space exploration? What have they accomplished, and what does it take to measure up to the challenges? Join us, as Mr. Calvin Seaman presents, "Inspirational Women of NASA." Travel with us on our journey to the Hubble Space Telescope, the Mars Exploration Rovers, the Cassini Mission to Saturn, and the Space Shuttle “Return-to-Flight” Mission.

Eileen Collins

Calvin, who is a veteran of the USA space program, is currently assigned to the International Space Station (ISS) External Relations Office, at the Johnson Space Center. Concurrently, he is Director of the NASA Liaison Office at the Tsukuba Space Center in Ibaraki Prefecture. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering, which he earned at the Pennsylvania State University, and a Master of Science degree in Space Science / Planetary Geology, which he earned at the University of Houston, in Texas. For the last twenty-three years -- as an aerospace engineer with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, with the commercial aerospace Industry, and with the United States Air Force -- Calvin has been playing an active role in mankind’s – and womankind’s -- mission to explore the universe around us.
