Brunch at Fujimamas
by Trista Kelly
Women from almost every profession gathered for a lovely brunch at Fujimamas in Harajuku, where champagne bubbled and sunshine flooded the room. Sarah Branley expertly managed our orders as about 15 women introduced themselves and chatted about their experiences in Japan.
It was a fine array of women-some established in their careers and some
seeking out new opportunities. One woman drew applause for being in Tokyo for 10 years. And then there were those--myself included--who are barely pushing the six-month mark. Wendy Kerr was one of the latter. She talked about her plans to start her own business selling jewellery. She is also trying her hand at the fine art of life coaching. Welcome to Tokyo Wendy!
The food was excellent as well. Kudos to Sarah for choosing Fujimamas. And
good luck to whomever organizes the next FEW gathering-this one will be tough act to follow. (That said, we do hope Sandi Lwin, a financial analyst at Ernest &
Julio Gallo wines, decides to accept the challenge someday. We would all love to
sample your company's fine products. Are you reading this Sandi?)
